This summer, I had the opportunity to work on an exciting model development project and share my findings with teams across the company. Beyond the project itself, I loved learning about Genentech's broader research and operations through journal clubs, department meetings, and conversations with diverse domain experts.

My summer internship at Genentech was an incredibly rewarding experience, where I worked on developing a specialized agent for optical pooled screening and had the opportunity to collaborate with and learn from researchers across biology and AI. I especially appreciated the supportive team, the many insightful conversations, and the opportunity to work on research problems with real-world impact.

Bo’s group gave me a well-scope project; trusted me to figure out how to approach it; and then supported me with plenty of compute, data, and feedback. I learned a lot from the Li Lab, the research talks in BRAID, and my fellow interns. It really was a wonderful experience, topped-off with my work being presented at ISMB.
